What's genuinely useful

A correction. A price that has moved, a product that changed, a link that has gone somewhere unexpected, a fact we got wrong. These are the most valuable messages we get, and we would rather hear about a mistake than leave it up.

A costume we should cover. Especially one you searched for and couldn't find a straight answer on. That gap is the whole reason this site exists.

A question about how we chose something. The reasoning is published — how we pick the costume, how we pick the store, and how we make money — but if a specific call doesn't add up, ask and we'll explain it or change it.

What we don't do

No paid placement, ever. No retailer, brand or agency can buy a spot in a comparison, move a pick, or sponsor a page. That's the commitment on how we make money, and it doesn't have an exception for the right offer.

We also don't publish guest posts, trade links, or add a product because someone asked us to. Pitches along those lines won't get a reply, and it isn't personal — answering them is time that belongs to the comparisons.

Where we are

Halloweenwise is an independent site operated from North Carolina, USA. There's no phone line and no support desk; it's one editor and an inbox, so a reply may take a few days in October.
